The story behind Mind Rnwd

I’m Geraldine — a wife, mum, daughter, and the person behind Mind Rnwd.

I built Mind Rnwd for a version of myself who needed it and couldn't find it.

I’m not here as an expert with all the answers. I’m simply sharing
the things that have helped me, in the hope that something here might help you too.

Why I Built Pal

When fear was loud, I searched for Bible verses to anchor me.
They helped — but searching is hard when you are already overwhelmed.

So I built Pal myself.

I started without knowing how to build an app and learned one step at a time,
creating the kind of tool I wished I had during those moments.

Now you can simply choose how you feel and Pal will meet you there with a Bible verse,
a grounding thought and one small step.

The searching has already been done for you.

Why Pal Is So Simple

One thing I cared about from the beginning was keeping Pal visually quiet.

Apps with lots of colours, pictures, animations, different swipe directions and too many things happening on screen can trigger my vertigo and visual sensitivity — especially when I’m already overwhelmed.

So Pal is deliberately different.

Gentle colours.
Minimal movement.
Clear choices.
As little visual noise as possible.

Even the breathing exercises use one slow, simple moving circle rather than lots of animation.

I wanted Pal to be something you could understand immediately —
whether you use apps all day or hardly use technology at all.

You shouldn’t have to work hard to use something that is supposed to help you pause.

What I Believe

I believe we were never meant to carry every worry, solve every possible future or stay in survival mode forever.

Sometimes the next right thing is simply to pause.

To pray.

To notice what is still good.

To care for what is in our hands and trust God with what is beyond them.

Mind Rnwd isn’t about becoming perfectly calm or having everything figured out.

It’s about creating enough space to hear what is true, steady yourself, and take the next step.

Pause. Pray. Take the next step.

What Guides Mind Rnwd

I believe God has always wanted us to have a healthy, abundant life.
Which is why the instruction has always been clear — give your cares to me.
Do not be anxious. In every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving.

Research increasingly supports the value of practices that have long been part of our faith —
chronic stress can take a real toll on the body, while practices such as gratitude, prayer and
slow breathing can support wellbeing and help us respond to stress.

Mind Rnwd is not a cure. It is a daily practice of choosing — as often as we can — to fill our minds with what is true, what is good, and what is worthy of gratitude. Not because life is not hard.
But because we were given an instruction for exactly these moments.

"Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely — think about such things."

Philippians 4:8

Why I Share This

"Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort
those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

2 Corinthians 1:4

This is why Mind Rnwd exists. The comfort I found in my hardest seasons
is not something I can keep to myself. If it helped me — it might help you too.

What I Am Not

I am not a doctor, therapist, or pastor.
Mind Rnwd is not a substitute for medical care.
It is a faith-based daily practice shared by someone
who found it helpful and feels a responsibility to pass it on.
